I have a Facebook page for occasional blog-like articles:

Tim Stinchcombe's Synth Stuff

Welcome to my website! On it you will find a range of material, data, information, and personalia (and maybe even some knowledge!) on a variety of subjects which either have been, or continue to be, of interest to me, or an influence upon me.

Synth pages: Tinkering with my synthesizer, or learning about the electronics inside it, has become my main pastime since 2001 when I purchased my first modules. Pages here describe modifications I have made to some modules, and present results of tests and investigations I have carried out from time to time.

About me: A brief biography about my background, who I am and where I've come from.

Photos: some links to my Facebook photo albums.

Purple Mountain Exophrenics: I created this name for the limited company I ran whilst doing some contract work in the early 2000s. I no longer maintain it as a limited company, but have decided it might as well have a 'web presence' in case it can serve me again in the future.

If you should have any problems or want to make a comment, please get in touch with me.

What's new: a log of what I've added/changed on the site.

For other curmudgeons like me, some great quotes from this gem of a book!

King Crimson's 'this night wounds time' enigma

Ever been so angry with your computer you've felt like shooting it? This is not a new phenomenum...

"Lives of great men all remind us
We can make our lives sublime,
And, departing, leave behind us
Footprints on the sands of time"

'A Psalm of Life', Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, 1838,

though, like me, you may know it from Hawkwind's excellent 'Assault and Battery', off their 'Warrior on the Edge of Time' LP of 1975. I first heard it in 1976, and those lyrics have stayed with me ever since—it was many, many years before I discovered that they were originally written by someone else...

Sadly, they don't make album covers like this anymore!

[There are still links out there to my defunct website originally hosted by my ISP: here is the old address so that search engines can pick it up, to hopefully enable people to find me that way: http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/tstinchcombe]
